Dear Camper Families,
We thank you so much for your patience and support over the last few weeks as Clearwater has navigated what this pandemic means for camp in summer 2020. We know you and your camper(s) have been awaiting this news as you plan the summer ahead.
We have made the difficult decision that we are unable to run Clearwater 2020 summer activities in a safe and responsible manner. Reaching this conclusion has involved a great deal of research, discussion, and reflection on providing a true Clearwater experience. We carefully tracked the recommendations of health experts and authorities regarding the COVID-19 pandemic while exploring many alternatives and ways to hold camp activities with physical distancing and a variety of adjustments to camp operations. Ultimately, the health and safety of our campers, their families, our staff, and our local community were paramount in our considerations.
All of us understand how disappointing this decision is, especially at a time when the opportunities that camp provides for growth, happiness, and friendship are needed more than ever. However, we know that the Clearwater spirit calls us to be resilient, resourceful, and optimistic about the days ahead when we will be together again.
You may have questions about the next steps and logistics about any payments you have made to Clearwater. Some of this is outlined in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) posted on our website here. Additionally, please feel free to contact us via email and phone.
We hope to see your daughter(s) in 2021. They are so very important to us. They are the heart of Clearwater. We are working on fun ways to support connections between and amongst campers, so please keep an eye on your email and our social media.
On behalf of the full board and staff, we thank you so much for your support and commitment to Clearwater! We will get through this together.
Sincerely,
Liz Baker Nonnie Gilbert
