Vanessa Wood

I have been lucky enough to be a part of Clearwater since I was born. I was there alongside my mother, Marcia Dunaway, that first summer of 1984. I became an official camper in the 1990s, for seven years, from Painter, on the Harbor, all the way to Spinnaker on the Point. I then returned to be a counselor from 2006-2008. I believe that Clearwater has given me the strength, the courage, and the belief in myself to pursue my dreams.
I have two Bachelor of Science degrees, the first in Forestry from Michigan State University in 2006, and the second in Nursing from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2022. I have had the privilege to have worked in the emergency department in Colorado Springs for almost 14 years, first as an emergency medical technician and now as a registered nurse. I also just spent the last year working as a Labor and Delivery nurse before returning to emergency medicine in August 2025.
In my free time, I like to explore Colorado with my husband and two children. We enjoy taking them camping and showing them the beauty all around us. I am grateful to have had Clearwater as such a prominent part of my earlier life and am so excited to become a part of it again. I look forward to this opportunity to serve on the board!
