Second Session: Week 2
Camp Blog Book

Greetings from the Northwoods,

It’s been a very busy week here on the shores of Lake Tomahawk and we have lots to report from our first week and a half of second session.  Here are some highlights:

  • A super fun Saturday Night party hosted by the Harbor with the theme Indiana Jones including lots of obstacle courses and even some chocolate gold coins
  • Trips coming and going for all units with so many great stories from out on the trail and waters
  • A beautiful Sunday Service hosted by the Cape with the theme: Beauty All Around
  • First few days of free activities with some great options including: watercolors on the waterfront, nine-square, fishing challenge, dance rehearsal for the camp musical, and participating in the regatta.
  • Our first Council Fire of second session in which our first-year campers were initiated into the Clearwater family, we heard trip sparks from our trips that have been completed, and handed out our first round of pins for campers to put on their new pennants.
  • Muffin Night with the dress-up theme of Millionaire Muffin Night
  • A wonderful camp history night in which we got to hear stories from Clearwater alumni who had attended camp as far back at the 1940’s
  • Another week of fabulous packouts including mountain biking, blueberry picking, a regatta with alumni sailing experts, and fishing with our favorite expert guide Rob.
  • Favorite meals have included: waffles with strawberry compote, philly cheese steaks, cookout (especially the watermelon slices), beef stroganoff and beef enchilada lasagna.

We are having so much fun with these campers and will be savoring every minute of our next two weeks together.  We’ve had some rain over the last few days but the forecast for the next week looks beautiful so we are looking forward to lots of Diamond Days on the lake!

Happy Camping,

Kat
