First Session: Week 1
Camp Blog Book

Greetings from Clearwater,

First session is off to a great start! Our first couple of days brought less than ideal weather with chilly temps and rain but the campers were absolute troopers! We were able to still do some regular activities, some rainy day activities, and even squeezed in a cozy all-camp movie.  The sun came out yesterday and it’s been beautiful ever since.  Activities are going great with archers getting bullseyes, fishers catching fish, and sailors sailing.  Two trips have already gone out and we’ve got more leaving tomorrow.  We had a great first packout day yesterday which included classics like rock climbing, pottery painting, and sailing.  With two new packouts created by very creative counselors.  The first was “A Trip to Colonial Williamsburg” which included churning butter, embroidery, and some raucous town hall meetings. The second was “An Egg-sellent Egg Challenge” in which the campers had to build structures to prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a high height as well as an extreme egg toss and a few other egg-centric activities. Both were a blast and campers were requesting that we make them weekly packouts.  It feels like camp is in full swing and we could not be more excited!

Favorite meals this week include:

  • Penne primavera
  • Mini meatloafs with mashed potatoes
  • Breakfast tacos
  • Orange chicken
  • Grilled cheese w/ tomato soup

Happy Camping,

Kat
