2nd Session: Week 1

Greetings from the Northwoods,

It’s been quite a whirlwind of a first week but the campers have been absolute troopers! We are delighted to report that the current air quality in Minocqua is 25 and the air has never felt fresher.  Campers are back in regular activities, trips are back out on the water and trails, and camp feels much more like camp.

Here are some highlights from our first week together:

• The first ever all-camp sleepover in Mainstay
• A very impressive no-practice talent show featuring performances by both campers and staff
• Endless crafts during the sleepover including visible mending, origami, leaf printing, and sketching.
• An amazing Sunday Service hosted by the Cape filled with poetry, songs, and even some skits.
• A very special first council fire where campers received their first batch of pins for their accomplishments in activities.
• Sending off our oldest campers on sea kayaking and sailing trips in the Apostle Islands.
• Favorite meals have included: grilled cheese, waffles with blueberry compote orange chicken stir fry, chicken caesar pita wraps, and french dip sandwiches.

Here’s to a much more normal week 2 of camp!
